Membership Benefits

When you join the IAPC you become a member of the largest representative body of palliative care professionals on the island of Ireland.

With a multidisciplinary membership that reflects the entire spectrum of professionals involved in providing palliative care – doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, counsellors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, pastoral carers, dieticians, administrators, educators, academics – the Association is an expert voice in the promotion of palliative care nationally and it plays a vital role in driving national policy for patient-centred, equitable and accessible palliative care for all who need it.

The IAPC is also a key learning network and a provider of professional development opportunities for all those involved in the delivery of palliative care.

  • LEARNING NETWORK
    Apart from general networking events, focused opportunities to share and to learn are available through the IAPC working groups and fora such as the Palliative Nursing Forum, the Children’s Palliative Care Group, the Primary Palliative Care Group, the Education and Research Forum, and the Associations other Working Groups
  • EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
    Educational and developmental events take place each year ranging from subject-specific workshops and seminars to the National Conference and the Annual IAPC Education and Research Seminar and Workshops.
  • IAPC KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
    The Knowledge Centre provides access to information and resources designed to disseminate knowledge, best practice, research and leading-edge thinking in palliative care, as well as facilitating knowledge transfer and exchange.
  • PREFERENTIAL RATES
    Members can avail of reduced registration fees for IAPC conferences, seminars and events. Preferential rates are also offered to IAPC members for EAPC events.
  • IAPC NEWS
    The newsletter keeps members in touch and up-to-date on the work of the IAPC. Articles and reports of the proceedings of palliative care conferences, as well as items of professional interest and current developments in palliative care are also covered. The newsletter offers members an opportunity to publish articles and other palliative care-related material. IAPC News is distributed to members quarterly.
