With over 18 years’ experience in Palliative Care, Eimear has worked across all areas of Specialist Palliative Care. The majority of her time was spent in Scotland during which she was involved in the setting up of a Hospice at Home Team, and a Wellbeing Day Services Hub in Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh. On returning to Ireland to a CNM3 post in Kerry Specialist Palliative Care Service, Eimear was part of the management team who lead in educating the Nursing team in Kerry when it opened a 15-bed inpatient until in 2017.

Eimear implemented electronic referrals for Palliative Care in Kerry and was successful in being shortlisted for a HSE Cork Kerry Community Staff award for this project. Eimear’s specialist interests include Nursing Development, education and quality improvement. Eimear is currently studying a Postgraduate in Quality Improvement in Healthcare at the Royal College of Surgeons.
